Privacy policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

Your images stay on your device

Lightly processes images entirely in your browser. Your photos are never uploaded to or stored on our servers.

What is saved on your device

We save your preferences (such as format, quality and language) in your browser's local storage so they are remembered next time. This data stays on your device and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings. If you install Lightly as an app, your browser also keeps a copy of the site's files so it can work offline.

Information we do not collect

Lightly has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email or location. Removing location and camera details (EXIF) from saved images happens on your device.

Third-party services

To work, the site loads fonts and code libraries (for example Google Fonts and open-source libraries for ZIP files and HEIC conversion) from public content delivery networks. These providers may receive technical information such as your IP address when your browser requests those files.

Advertising

We may show ads, for example through Google AdSense. Advertising partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings.

Children

Lightly is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date above shows when it was last changed.
